My Developer Workbench: Tools, Software & Setup I Rely On Daily
Curious about the tools behind my workflow? Here's a comprehensive look at my development environment—from IDE and text editors to productivity apps and hardware setup.
Workstation
Lenovo Thinkpad on Linux
I use a laptop every day. I installed Linux on it, Arch btw. I use it for work, for personal projects, for everything. I love it.
ZSA Voyager
The best keyboard I’ve tried. My first split keyboard. Very ergonomic, simple to use and awesomely configurable.
Logitech MX Master 3
I’ve had it for over 2 years, very nice to use and ergonomic.
Sihoo M90C
Ergonomic chair recently purchased on special offer. Very satisfied for the moment, many configurations are available.
Development tools
PHPStorm
I was a fan of Visual Studio Code before switching to PHPStorm. The difference is impressive. With the IdeaVim extension in addition which allows you to couple the power of PHPStorm to Vim. A real pleasure to work with this very powerful IDE.
Visual Studio Code
I always use VSCode for basic file editing or when I don’t need all the tools provided by PHPStorm. My first editor, always in my heart.
Neovim
I occasionally use Neovim; it’s always a pleasure to work without reaching for the mouse. I particularly employ the LazyVim starter to avoid delving into the configuration rabbit hole, haha.
Productivity
Obsidian
A great tool for organizing goals, projects, taking notes, etc. I can’t recommend enough!
